Kirk Herbstreit likes what Shea Patterson can bring to Michigan.
On Monday, the former Ole Miss quarterback announced his choice to transfer to the Wolverines. Patterson was in Ann Arbor over the weekend on a visit, so the development wasn’t too surprising. Still, he’s a quality addition for Michigan, and the development is a blow to Ole Miss’ quarterback depth.
Shortly after the news broke, the ESPN analyst used Twitter to give his take on the situation. He called Patterson’s arrival a big-time pickup for the Wolverines.

Has been speculated about and now official. Big time pick up for @UMichFootball and Jim Harbaugh! Shea is a dual threat that has 2 years of starting experience. Not to mention he’s joining a veteran team for 2018! https://t.co/ThwMuaP4kl

Right now, the impact of Patterson’s addition is all speculation. In time, we’ll learn if he can make the difference for the Wolverines that some envision for next year.
There’s no doubt Harbaugh can use the help, especially after Michigan’s 8-4 record this season.
