On this edition of Wildcat Country, Curtis Burch is joined by Kyle Tucker and Joe Mussatto. Kyle was in the progress of a move (please forgive the background noise) and Joe was on his way back to Lexington from Starkville.
Kyle and Curtis begin by breaking down the Blue-White scrimmage. Kyle thought both Kevin Knox and PJ Washington performed very well, while Hamidou Diallo didn’t show an improved shot. Wenyen Gabriel has been a topic of much conversation this offseason. Will he be in the starting line up when Kentucky starts its exhibition season? The guys discuss the major storyline of cramping in the game and if it is an issue going forward. We also get Kyle’s thoughts on UK being blown out by Mississippi State.
Joe joins the show and talks about what went wrong for Kentucky (there was plenty). Also Joe gives his first hand account of some yelling from the locker room by UK tight ends coach/recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow. Marrow used some choice langue and it was so loud that Mark Stoops postgame presser had to be paused. Joe actually has video of the incident in his game story and on his twitter account so you can check it out for yourself. Mark Stoops and Eddie Gran explain why they took a deep shot near the end of the first half. That eventually lead to another MSU score. Stephen Johnson had his worse game of the season. Is this a major cause for concern or just an outlier?
We wrap up this podcast with a quick update on UK Volleyball, who are on a 12 match winning streak.
