Kentucky-on-Kentucky crime: Karl-Anthony Towns posterizes Patrick Patterson

Karl-Anthony Towns - Kentucky-Kentucky Wildcats-Kentucky basketball

Karl-Anthony Towns is quickly becoming one of the best players in the NBA — if he isn’t there already — and he showed that potential again on Sunday night in Oklahoma City.

Playing against the new-look Thunder and fellow ex-Wildcat Patrick Patterson, Towns took advantage of his good position on the floor and made Patterson pay dearly for a late rotation:

On one hand, Patterson did the honorable thing by standing in while halfway attempting to stop Towns from embarrassing him on his home floor. On the other, Patterson probably should have known his cause was helpless and not risked getting called for a foul — which is exactly what happened.

The T-Wolves led the Thunder 88-75 in OKC after three quarters. Towns poured in 20 points and grabbed nine boards.
