Kentucky guard Quade Green says his ‘Christmas gift’ to fans will be win over Louisville

Quade Green plans on getting Kentucky basketball fans a Christmas gift. And they should certainly like it if the freshman guard is able to deliver.

After the Wildcats’ win over Virginia Tech on Saturday, Green shared his plan to make Kentucky fans happy this holiday season — to beat Louisville on Dec. 29.

“That’s my Christmas gift to the fans. Got to beat Louisville. It’s no way,” Green said Saturday, according to SEC Country’s Kyle Tucker. “Biggest rivalry of the whole year. We’ve got to.”

Green has helped the Wildcats get off to a 9-1 start after they beat the Hokies, 93-86, on Saturday. Their only loss so far came against Kansas on Nov. 14. Since then, they’ve won seven straight games.

Kentucky’s next game is against UCLA next Saturday. However, it’s the following matchup against Louisville that is likely most important to the fans and players alike. The Wildcats will have home-court advantage for the contest played at Rupp Arena.

Green is averaging 11.0 points through the first 10 games of the season. He also is averaging 3.7 assists and 2.4 rebounds. And not only that, but he’s also wearing some of the coolest glasses that college basketball has seen.
