The Rose Bowl Legacy Foundations has started a crowdfunding campaign — the goal is $400,000 — to honor the late Keith Jackson with a statue at the Rose Bowl, according to Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times.

From the LA Times:
“Keith epitomized big moments in sports, that turned out to be iconic memories for generations of people,” said Dedan Brozino, the foundation’s executive director. “We owe a lot of our history to his mind and his voice. We hope this statue will provide a gift for future generations to experience and learn from his broadcast legacy and that of the venue.”
Jackson of course coined the phrase “The Granddaddy of them All” in reference to the Rose Bowl.
A website has been setup for the project at keithjacksonstatue.com.
