AJ McCarron will be part of the Buffalo Bills, and consider Katherine Webb-McCarron a fan of the move.
On Wednesday night, the Bills announced that the former Alabama quarterback will join the team on a two-year deal. It ends a period of uncertainty for McCarron, who recently won his grievance against the Cincinnati Bengals, a development that allowed him to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
Webb-McCarron, McCarron’s wife, chimed in about the positive news on her Instagram account shortly after the news broke. As you can see in the message below, she wrote, “#billsmafia here we come.”
You’ll remember that Webb-McCarron was introduced to the nation during the national title game to end the 2012 season, when McCarron and Alabama routed Notre Dame in Miami Gardens, Fla. During the broadcast, announcer Brent Musburger made remarks about the then-girlfriend of McCarron on the air that caused a national stir.
McCarron, meanwhile, should be eager about this new chapter in his professional life. He has 920 yards passing with 6 touchdowns since entering the NFL as a fifth-round pick by the Bengals in 2014. He backed up starter Andy Dalton while in Cincinnati, so perhaps he’ll be given a better chance to be the top quarterback in Buffalo.
You can be sure Webb-McCarron will be her husband’s biggest fan in the journey ahead.
