kansas state-defensive coordinator

In the wake of Tom Hayes’s reported retirement at Kansas State, Bill Snyder has announced promotions within his coaching staff.

Kansas State has promoted Blake Seiler to defensive coordinator from linebackers coach, and Brian Norwood has been hired to coach the Kansas State secondary and serve as the co-defensive coordinator.

Hayes spent over 40 years in coaching, and had stops at two NFL teams and nine Division I schools. Seiler played for Kansas State from 2004-2006, and began his coaching career with the Wildcats in 2013. He served as Kansas State’s co-defensive coordinator last season in addition to his job coaching defensive ends.

Norwood comes to Kansas State after serving as the associate head coach and co-defensive coordinator for the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. He has also coached at Texas Tech, Baylor, and Penn State.
