When former USC Trojan wide receiver made the decision to forgo his senior season and enter the NFL Draft after last season, few thought it was a poor decision.
He was drafted in the second round by the Steelers and further justidied his decision by leading all rookies in receiving yards (917) and receiving touchdowns (7).
But Smith-Schuster also made a promise to his mother that he would return to school and earn a defree from USC. He took the first step in that journey on Thursday, tweeting out a picture of him in class.
Told my mom last year that I’d go back to school since I left USC early. I went back to college today. pic.twitter.com/yHnbwnsELH

And if it wasn’t already easy enough for his fellow students to recognize the NFL star, he made it even easier for them by wearing his Steelers jersey in class.
Smith-Schuster is already one of the most colorful, fun-loving players in the league. He had a well-publicized episode of having his bike stolen and eventually returned, and showed up at the USC game during his bye week, taking photos with fans, dancing the Juju during a TV timeout, and leading the fans in the “We Are SC” fight song.
As he continues to pursue his education at USC, there’s no doubt this won’t be the last time he does something… interesting.
