Johnny Manziel’s NFL future is now a popular prop bet

Former Texas A&M star Johnny Manziel is attempting an NFL comeback, and now fans can win (or lose) money if they believe (or don’t believe) in his comeback journey.

The former Heisman Trophy winner says he’s determined to make it back to the NFL, even if that first requires a stop in the CFL.

If bettors believe in his ability to make an NFL roster over, say, Joe Callahan or Christian Hackenberg, they can get a pretty good price right now. The ‘no’ side of this wager is a heavy favorite at -200, with ‘yes’ coming in at +300 for the time being.

Manziel’s future in professional football is looking better than it has in years. He opened up this week about his bouts with alcoholism and bipolar disorder, and how he approached his first NFL shot with the Cleveland Browns.

At just 25 years old, he looks like a safe bet to return to pro football in some capacity now that he has his priorities in order. And he has some momentum going into his comeback aspirations — fan support has been high for the Aggie legend.

First, Manziel will play in the Spring League showcase later this year, an event that fans can watch on Turner Sports’ streaming service. Other NFL players like Ahmad Bradshaw, Fred Jackson and Kellen Winslow II have participated in this event before.
