Joel Lanning announces Iowa State will go ‘color rush’ vs. Kansas

Iowa State linebacker/quarterback Joel Lanning took to Twitter to thank the Pardon My Take podcast for naming him Football Guy of the Week on Wednesday.

Lanning and the Cyclones have been the talk of college football since knocking off then-No. 3 Oklahoma on Saturday, Oct. 7, as a massive underdog in Norman, Oklahoma.

In addition to the thanking the Barstool Sports-hosted podcast and its “award-winning listeners,” Lanning announced Iowa State would wear all-red uniforms, or “color rush,” against Kansas on Saturday, Oct. 14.

Lanning saw time at linebacker and quarterback in the Cyclones’ 38-31 win. It was the type of grit that gets you named “Football Guy of the Week” by the Pardon My Take crew.

Iowa State is 3-2 this season after stunning Oklahoma. The Cyclones resume action against Kansas in Ames, Iowa, at 12 p.m. ET on Fox Sports Network.
