Florida State fans got some good news in the recovery of running back Jacques Patrick from a leg injury.
On his weekly radio show on Tuesday, Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher reported that Patrick’s surgery had been a success, and that further evaluation of the injury revealed that it was not as serious as it was initially considered. On Sunday, Patrick was said to be in line to miss “extended time” and potentially the remainder of 2017 after the injury he suffered in the loss to Louisville.
With Patrick’s injury, the Seminoles will need to turn to players like sophomore Amir Rasul to pick up the slack in the backfield. Rasul has seen very limited action during his time in Tallahassee, appearing in two games last year and four games so far in 2017. The former 4-star recruit is being counted on by Fisher to “be a big part of what (they) do” offensively, and that begins this week.
Florida State takes on Boston College on Friday at 8pm on ESPN.
