Michigan has not had a great start to October. Jim Harbaugh’s team is 1-2 in the month and has seen its Big Ten and national title hopes go up in smoke after losses to Michigan State and Penn State.
No more top-10 ranking or national title odds for the Wolverines, who started the season 5-0. After the 42-13 setback Saturday night at Penn State, Harbaugh told his team the only way to move forward is by sticking together.
Quarterback John O’Korn was asked about Harbaugh’s message after the loss at Penn State. He told reporters Harbaugh said “the fake love’s gone. There’s no bandwagon. Only us.”
Nick Baumgardner of the Detroit Free Press posted the quote on Twitter.

Michigan should be able to regroup next week with a home game against Rutgers. The Wolverines then play Minnesota and Maryland before ending their regular season with tough tests at Wisconsin and against Ohio State.
