QB Jesse Ertz takes field for warm-ups ahead of TCU-Kansas State game

Jesse Ertz was ruled out for 4-6 weeks earlier in the week after suffering an injury against Texas on Oct. 7, but the Kansas State quarterback made an unexpected appearance at Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium on Saturday.

Ertz was seen warming up for the Wildcats ahead of Kansas State’s home game against No. 6 TCU, according to various reports — despite the injury update earlier in the week.

Ertz was only seen throwing passes — not running the ball at all, according to the Wichita Eagle’s Kellis Robinett.

Backup quarterback Alex Delton is expected to start in place of Ertz for the Wildcats against the Horned Frogs. Regardless of who takes the snaps for Kansas State today though, it appears that Ertz may be in better shape than many he suspected he was.

Kickoff for the TCU-Kansas State is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. CT after lightning delayed the original 11 a.m. start time. The game will air on FS1.
