James Washington named to ESPN midseason All-American team

James Washington’s explosiveness makes him Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph’s favorite target. It’s also made him ESPN’s favorite for the Biletnikoff Award. Washington, who has the fourth-most receiving yards in the FBS despite having fewer receptions than anyone else in the top 11, made ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg’s midseason All-American list.

Rittenberg referred to Washington as “the clear favorite” for the award given to college football’s top receiver.

Oklahoma State to fundraise for Stillwater Strong Memorial during homecoming game

The Cowboys’ homecoming game Saturday against Baylor is big for the football team, but the contest could prove more important for the community. During the game, buckets will be passed around the stands in Boone Pickens Stadium to fundraise for the Stillwater Strong Memorial.

The proposed monument, which will be at Hall of Fame and Main in Stillwater, will honor the four killed and all those affected in Oklahoma State’s 2015 homecoming parade tragedy.

Freshman wrestler Daton Fix in U23 World Championships

Oklahoma State freshman wrestler Daton Fix went undefeated in the U23 Freestyle World Team Trials to make the USA roster for the U23 World Championships at 57 kg. The U23 World Wrestling Championships are Nov. 21-26 in Poland.

Fix will pursue his second world title of the year after took gold in the Junior World Championships in August.
