What is the best new tradition in sports? Iowa football fans know it’s the Kinnick Wave, and they were able to show off that knowledge on Thursday night’s edition of Jeopardy!

The Kinnick Wave was featured on the classic question-and-answer game show in a category about sports traditions.

“A new tradition in 2017 — at the end of the 1st quarter, Hawkeye fans at this university turn and wave at children’s hospital patients,” the answer read. One of the contestants answered correctly right away. The University of Iowa’s Twitter account posted a video Friday morning.

The shoutout from Alex Trebek was the latest national recognition for the Kinnick Wave. The heartwarming tradition — which began in September 2017 — garnered plenty of media coverage in the fall and won the 2017 Disney Spirit Award.

Clips of the Kinnick Wave also appeared in a new music video for Carrie Underwood’s The Champion.
