Iowa S Brandon Snyder arrested Sunday morning outside Kinnick Stadium for OWI

Iowa safety Brandon Snyder was arrested outside Kinnick Stadium at 3 a.m. Sunday for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, according to the Iowa City Arrest Blotter.

According to the blotter, the arrest came at the intersection of Melrose Drive and Hawkins Avenue, which is located southeast of the Hawkeyes’ stadium. The date of birth of the arrested matches Snyder’s birthday on Iowa’s site.

Kirk Ferentz issued a statement about Snyder’s arrest on Sunday afternoon, saying the program is “very disappointed.”

“We are aware of the incident involving Brandon. While we are currently gathering additional facts, we are very disappointed to learn of Brandon’s involvement,” Ferentz said. “Brandon is subject to the rules and regulations of the UI Student-Athlete Code of Conduct, and the rules and regulations of our football program.”

Snyder missed a good portion of the season with a torn ACL suffered in the spring before coming back and tearing the same ACL again.
