So, knowing who's on that 2021 schedule, who would you like to see added? Who do you expect to be added?

ANSWER: Iowa has one nonconference opening for the 2021 schedule. The Hawkeyes play at Iowa State on Sept. 11 and host Colorado State on Sept. 25. It’s somewhat of an odd year because Iowa opens the season Sept. 4 against Indiana. It’s the first time since 1980 that the Hawkeyes will open a season against a Big Ten foe, and that year they also played the Hoosiers.
Of course every fan would like to see the Hawkeyes take on a high-profile game against a Power 5 opponent. But the reality is, it won’t happen. the Hawkeyes played 10 Power 5 opponents last year and only four teams nationally played 11. With an annual schedule that includes nine Big Ten opponents and Iowa State, there’s little flexibility for the football program to add an 11th Power 5 opponent. All of Iowa’s Power 5 flexibility faded when the Big Ten expanded its annual schedule to nine games. So chances are, a Mid-American Conference or other Group of 5 opponent comes to Kinnick Stadium for a $1 million-plus paycheck.
Iowa’s primary tenet is to play seven home games every season because each one is worth around $5 million to the program. It’s also a financial boon to many of the program’s biggest donors, who own or operate restaurants, hotels and other establishments in the Iowa City area. With only six home games scheduled in 2021, if the Hawkeyes play a Power 5 opponent, the game probably is held at a neutral site. So to step away from reality for a moment, who would you like to see play Iowa? Notre Dame for the first time since 1968? Missouri in St. Louis or Kansas City? Against a major opponent in Arlington, Texas, or an SEC foe in Atlanta? Vote below for your choice.
