Lonzo Ball is going to be a star for the Los Angeles Lakers. However, the first game of his NBA career did not go as planned as he only scored 3 points in the Lakers’ 108-92 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night.

On the night, the former UCLA superstar played 29 minutes and went 1-6 from the field. He added 9 rebounds, 4 assists, a block and a steal. He also had 2 turnovers.

Twitter had a strong reaction to Ball’s debut, not surprising considering that he and his family are a media sensation. Here are some of the highlights.

Laker fans were initially excited just to see Lonzo on the court at Staples Center.

But then it went south.

Clippers guard Patrick Beverly was less than impressed with Lakers rookie:

LaVar Ball, the infamous leader of the Big Baller Brand, shared his thoughts on Lonzo’s debut with ESPN and Stephen A. Smith:

Ball and the Lakers will next take the court on Friday night in Phoenix against the Suns.
