Geaux Streauxs: LSU to display pro-Astros billboards in Houston to support former Tigers in World Series

If you’re looking for a team to cheer for in the 2017 World Series, LSU has a clear choice for you.

The Tigers are siding with Houston in the Fall Classic between the Astros and the Los Angeles Dodgers that is set to begin on Tuesday night. Thanks to the presence of former LSU baseball players Alex Bregman and Will Harris on the Houston roster, that was probably a pretty easy decision.

LSU is recognizing the World Series appearance for Bregman and Harris by displaying “Geaux Streauxs” billboards in four locations in Houston. These billboards will feature images of both Astros players from their LSU days, as well as the LSU logo. A rendering of the billboard is featured above.

Bregman, who was the No. 2 overall selection in the 2015 MLB Draft, hit .284 with 19 home runs as the team’s everyday third baseman during the regular season. Harris finished the regular season with a 2.98 ERA in 45 1/3 innings of relief for the Astros.

More information from the LSU athletic department:

Bregman, who enjoyed an All-American career at LSU from 2013 through 2015, is the Astros’ starting third baseman, and Harris, a pitcher/infielder for the Tigers from 2003-06, is one of Houston’s top relief pitchers and a 2016 American League All-Star.

The billboards, provided by Outfront Media, are on display now at the following locations:

· Interstate 45 South & FM 519 – Clear Lake/Friendswood area

· Interstate 10 East & Garth – Baytown area

· Highway 225 East & Shaver – East Houston/Pasadena area

It is worth noting that though the release said there would be four billboards, only three locations are listed above.
