TCU football coach Gary Patterson appears to be taking Chris Del Conte’s move from TCU to Texas hard.
Del Conte was announced as the new athletic director at Texas, the same position he held at TCU since 2009. During a press conference on Monday, Del Conte shared an exchange he had with Patterson over the phone following his departure, according to Brian Davis of HookEm.com.
CDC: "Today, I get a phone call from Gary Patterson. He said, ‘I love you, but I hate you today.’"

Patterson and Del Conte have put TCU in the national spotlight over the past decade. Most notably, Del Conte helped the Horned Frogs get into the Big 12 Conference where they’ve been a consistent contender in football.
While the two have enjoyed plenty of good times together, it undoubtedly has to be tough for Patterson to see Del Conte leave for another Big 12 program in the same state. Although, Del Conte will need to pull some of his own magic to help a struggling football program in Austin, Texas, get back to where it used to be.
