A bunch of members of the media are voicing their support for TCU’s College Football Playoff candidacy.
The latest personality to campaign for the Horned Frogs is FOX Sports’ Ric Renner. Renner dismissed the idea that the Big 12’s playoff hopes are in danger after Oklahoma lost to Iowa State, saying TCU is a legitimate threat to make the field.

Renner dives into some other topics during his rant, but here’s everything he had to say about TCU:
“I’m sick of the national perspective: ‘Oh my god, Oklahoma loses. The Big 12 is out of the final four.’ That’s an outrage. If TCU runs the table, the Frogs are in. … The year that TCU and Baylor were left out, they didn’t have the cachet of Texas and OU, everybody says. It shouldn’t have mattered. … TCU carries the flag for the Big 12, and we can all stand for that.”
It’s just the latest in a series of media members touting the Frogs’ chances at making the playoff. ESPN’s Heather Dinich has the Frogs in her current top four, while CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd says TCU controls its own destiny.
The Frogs currently rank No. 6 in the Associated Press Top 25, but the rankings that matter most in this discussion are those from the College Football Playoff committee. The first set of those rankings come out Tuesday, Oct. 31.
