Through six weeks of action, the TCU Horned Frogs are the lone undefeated team in the Big 12 Conference.

The Frogs boast wins over Arkansas, Oklahoma State and West Virginia and appear to be in great shape to be the conference leader and make the Big 12 title game come December.

TCU head coach Gary Patterson’s groups’ midseason efforts have not gone unnoticed by the national media. Two Fox Sports analysts, Joel Klatt and Robert Smith, picked TCU in their Week 7 College Football Playoff projections.

Smith and Klatt don’t have the Frogs as their eventual national champion, but the recognition is there for TCU. The potential winners of the Big 12 will likely have to fight for the last two remaining spots with the Pac-12 champ and Big Ten champ; assuming Clemson and Alabama win out and lock themselves into the playoff. The undefeated Horned Frogs likely give the league its best chance at a playoff berth if Patterson’s squad can run the table.

The Frogs’ toughest-remaining Big 12 opponents appear to be at Kansas State, Texas Tech and at Oklahoma. Road wins against Kansas State and Oklahoma would be a big boost for the Frogs, who already boast a strong résumé to this point in the season.
