Former LSU coach Les Miles says he hasn’t been contacted for head coach openings

Former LSU coach Les Miles might be staying off the sidelines for longer than anticipated.

The Mad Hatter was apparently not contacted by a single school during this wild and wide-ranging coaching carousel. That’s what he said on ESPNU Radio Thursday morning.

“None. Not one,” Miles confessed.

Miles has been open about wanting to get back into the coaching game.

“If that opportunity presents itself, I’d be thrilled,” Miles told Paul Finebaum in the fall. “The reality is, if you get an AD who sees it the same way and a president who sees it the same way … I want to be in the key games around the country.”

But even with seven SEC schools and numerous other programs around the country changing coaches, Miles apparently did not receive serious consideration from anywhere.

Miles last coached LSU in 2016. He went 141-55 over 12 seasons in Baton Rouge and won a National Championship and two SEC titles.
