Former Florida QB Tim Tebow trolls Bob Stoops at Heisman event

Tim Tebow saw an opportunity to re-live one of Florida’s National Championship on Sunday night, and he didn’t miss it.

Speaking at Heisman event with former Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops in attendance, Tebow praised 2017 Heisman winner Baker Mayfield and his two head coaches, Stoops and Lincoln Riley, for their success.

But in doing so, Tebow stumbled onto what might be a sour memory for Stoops — the 2009 BCS National Championship Game. That battle was won by Tebow’s Gators 24-14 over Stoops’ Sooners.

At least Tebow softened it with a memory of Stoops’ first national title when he was the defensive coordinator on the 1996 Florida team that won it all.

Still, the 2008 game was the last time OU played for college football’s greatest prize, and Tebow proved to be too good to beat in that contest.

Oklahoma will get another shot if it can beat Georgia in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day.
