Former Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty is expected start for the New York Jets against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
Jets coach Todd Bowles announced Petty would get the start after Josh McCown broke his left hand Sunday. It is not clear how much time McCown will miss.

Petty has served as McCown’s backup all season, staying ahead of 2016 second-round pick Christian Hackenberg on the depth chart. He was 2-of-9 passing for 14 yards in relief of McCown against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
The Jets selected Petty in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He started four games for the Jets last season. New York was 1-3 in those games. He has completed 54.2 percent of his passes for 823 yards, 3 touchdowns and 7 interceptions in his NFL career.
