Florida State recruiting: RB Charles Strong decommits from the Seminoles

Florida State-Florida State football

Class of 2018 running back Charles Strong will no longer attend Florida State, he announced via his Twitter page on Wednesday. Strong was a 3-star recruit.

Here’s what he had to say:

Strong committed to the Seminoles more than a year ago. Here’s what 247 Sports had to save about the move:

The move does not come as a surprise. Strong, ranked as the No. 588 overall prospect in the 2018 recruiting class, pledged to the Seminoles in February of 2016. Following the departure of coach Jimbo Fisher and the hiring of Willie Taggart, however, the big back did not fit in to FSU’s plans. Current quarterback coach and co-offensive coordinator Randy Sanders visited Strong last week, but Taggart did not visit the long-time commit.

Strong is scheduled to take an official visit to Louisville this weekend. Ole Miss and USF are also in play for Strong.

Florida State is down to just nine recruits in its 2018 class.
