Florida State RB Jacques Patrick out for extended period of time with knee injury

Florida State running back Jacques Patrick may not see the football field again for a while.

According to reports from Tomahawk Nation and Tallahassee.com, a knee injury during the Louisville game on Saturday will mean that the junior will miss “an extended period of time”.

Patrick has 76 carries for 434 yards and a touchdown thus far in 2017. He did run for 70 yards against Louisville in the Seminoles’ 31-28 loss. His career best performance was against Syracuse in 2015, when he ran for 162 yards and 3 touchdowns on 24 carries.

Patrick’s injury is the latest on a long list that has affected the Seminoles this season. The most notable one was the injury to quarterback Deondre Francois in the opener in Atlanta against No. 1 Alabama. Wide receivers Keith Gavin (ankle) and George Campbell (hip) didn’t play on Saturday, while left guard Landon Dickerson has been lost for the season (right ankle).

The Seminoles play Boston College on Friday. That game is set for 8pm ET on ESPN.
