For the second straight week, Florida State will be without receivers Keith Gavin and George Campbell.
According to the Orlando Sentinel , Gavin (right ankle) and Campbell (hip/core) will be unavailable when the Seminoles (2-3, 2-2 ACC) take on Louisville (4-3, 1-3) this afternoon in Tallahassee. That means the team will continue to rely on leading receivers Auden Tate and Nyqwan Murray in the passing game for an offense that is last among Power 5 teams with eight touchdowns this season.
Gavin and Campbell have combined for 22 receptions and 256 yards this season, but both missed the trip to Durham last week due to their respective injuries. Florida State managed to win the game, 17-10, but quarterback Justin Blackman was limited to 197 yards through the air with a touchdown and two interceptions.
Still, even with thin depth at the receiver position, FSU enters Saturday as a 6-point favorite at home against Louisville, as it looks to avenge last season’s historically bad 43-point loss.
Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET on ESPN.
