Who is your top guy the Gators need to pick up for 19?

I would go with 4-star cornerback Kaiir Elam, given the importance of his position in Florida’s 2019 class.
The Gators will try to sign multiple corners and have offered more than 20, but Elam appears to be their best shot at an elite player at the position. He is the highest-ranked uncommitted cornerback in the Sunshine State with an offer from Florida.
The previous staff offered Elam last spring at the Orange & Blue Debut and he returned to The Swamp for the Tennessee game on Sept. 16. Elam has been offered by new Florida coach Dan Mullen and will be a top priority.
The opportunity for early playing time and proximity to home will be selling points for the Gators, along with his family ties to the program. He is the nephew of former Florida safety Matt Elam, which should help Mullen’s cause.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect is ranked the nation’s No. 14 cornerback in the 247Sports composite and holds more than 30 scholarship offers. Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami and Ohio State are considered the top contenders for Elam, who was named DB MVP at the Rivals camp in Miami on Sunday.

Cornerback is one of the biggest needs for Florida in the 2019 recruiting cycle. The Gators are low on numbers at the position, although it’s probable that two or three returning safeties could play cornerback under the new defensive staff and scheme.
McArthur Burnett, C.J. Henderson, C.J. McWilliams and Marco Wilson are the returning corners from 2017. Early enrollee Trey Dean, an Under Armour All-American, also is expected to play the position despite being rated as a safety prospect by recruiting services.
Shawn Davis, Brian Edwards, Chauncey Gardner and Brad Stewart all played safety last season, but some of them could make the move to cornerback or nickel this year to help the Gators with their depth in the secondary.
