FanRag Sports’ Jon Rothstein named TCU as the most complete basketball team in the Big 12, citing their scoring efficiency and relative strength at every position.
Normally, this nod would go to Kansas, but Rothstein writes that the Jayhawks have problems with depth in the frontcourt and competitive fire.
It should also be noted that Rothstein makes the clear distinction between the best team in the conference, which he thinks is Kansas, and the most complete team, which he thinks describes TCU better.
Even though Kansas has their weaknesses, there’s great reason to think that they’re going to win the Big 12 again. Their biggest threat, West Virginia, is still finding their sea legs and most of the other teams in the conference aren’t at an elite level. TCU can certainly challenge for that title, but as of now, the smart money is still on the Kansas Jayhawks to win the conference.
