Life as a recruit

Adam Rossow of OurQuadCities.com took fans behind the scenes of what life is like as an Iowa recruit. Rossow toured the football facility, including the player lounge, just like a recruit would.

The winter wave

There isn’t a football game scheduled at Kinnick Stadium during February, but it didn’t stop the Kinnick Wave from taking place. The Iowa maintenance staff drew a waving hand in the snow inside the stadium. They even wrote the phrase “snow wave” at the top for the patients at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.

Best in class

Mike Mayock of NFL.com released his top five positional rankings for the upcoming NFL draft. A pair of Hawkeyes made the list. Josh Jackson making the cut at cornerback isn’t a surprise, but Iowa center James Daniels doing so is. Especially when considering the group is interior lineman and not just centers.

Calling it now

Is there an Iowa offensive player poised for a breakout? Land of 10 found one and he’s at the team’s biggest position of need — wide receiver.

Take 5

The 2018 recruiting class was the first with an early signing period. It was a learning experience for the Hawkeyes. Here are five things Iowa took away that it can use for 2019.

Take down

Iowa signee Tyler Linderbaum picked up an easy win in his first match at the Iowa high school state wrestling tournament. Matthew Bain of the Des Moines Register shot video of Linderbaum’s pin. Linderbaum is 36-0 and three wins away from claiming the Class 2A 285-pound championship.

The boys of summer are back

The Hawkeyes kick off the baseball season this weekend. Dargan Southard of the Iowa City Press-Citizen previews the season and looks at how the team builds off an NCAA Tournament berth.
