The Oklahoma State Cowboys face a tough test this weekend in the rapidly improving Texas Longhorns.
Texas is 3-3 (2-1 Big 12) and put a scare into Oklahoma last week. The Longhorns are trending up and seem to have found their quarterback of the future in Sam Ehlinger. The Cowboys won’t have an easy Saturday.
Still, six out of the seven experts at Sports Illustrated that predicted the Oklahoma State-Texas game have the Cowboys winning. Joan Niesen is the lone writer who has the Longhorns prevailing.
Bruce Feldman expounded on why he’s backing the Cowboys.
“Tom Herman’s team continues to make strides, and I expect them to give the Cowboys all they can handle,” he wrote. “The hunch here is that the emotional roller coaster coming off last week’s tough loss to arch-rival Oklahoma will be too much for the Longhorns to overcome against an explosive opponent.”
Oklahoma State fans should also take solace in one more thing. Niesen, the writer who’s predicting a Texas win, is currently in last place in Sports Illustrated’s season pick-em standings.
