Evan Turner interrupts Draymond Green’s interview to get winnings for Ohio State-Michigan State bets

Evan Turner was not leaving the arena without his money.

After the Turner’s Trail Blazers beat the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night, Turner tracked down Draymond Green to settle up some bets the two had made about Ohio State-Michigan State games in the last few months. Green, the former Spartans’ standout, owed Turner, a former Ohio State star, $100 for the Buckeyes’ wins in both football and basketball.

Turner interrupted Green’s post-game interview to get his money. Anthony Slater of The Athletic posted video of the exchange.

Here’s how the conversation went:

Turner You owe me $100, bro.

Green: What fo–

Turner: You probably owe me double.

Green: I got you right now. I owe you for football, too, huh? Did we beat y’all in football?

Turner: No.

Green: You sure?

Turner: It was 30 points.

Green: Oh, we beat Michigan.

Turner: That 30-point blowout is a little extra, too.

(Green hands Turner some cash)

Turner: Thank you, my good man. Always a pleasure. Big Ten for life. Keep it classy.

Much to Turner’s delight, Ohio State throttled Michigan State, 48-3, on the gridiron in November. In January, the Buckeyes’ men’s basketball team had similar success, beating then-No. 1 Michigan State, 80-64.

Turner and Green had two college seasons overlap, in 2008-2009 and 2009-2010, and both had tons of collegiate success prior to their NBA careers. Turner was the Big Ten Player of the Year in 2010, and Green won the honor two years later.
