Duke signee R.J. Barrett is rated as the best prospect in the Class of 2018. Now he has another award to back it up.

The 6-foot-7, 200-pound small forward from Montverde Academy (Fla.) was named the Gatorade Boys’ Basketball High School Player of the Year on Thursday. He is the third Blue Devil to win the award since 2012, joining Jayson Tatum and Jabari Parker.

The announcement comes a week after Barrett was named the Naismith High School Player of the Year.

Barrett is part of Duke’s incoming No. 1 recruiting class, along with No. 2 overall prospect Cameron Reddish, No. 3 overall prospect Zion Williamson and No. 9 overall prospect Tre Jones. Reddish and Williamson were also finalists for Naismith Player of the Year, while Jones was a semifinalist.

Barrett is the headliner of the class, but not by much. The quartet will come to Duke with lofty expectations and large shoes to fill with the expected departures of Marvin Bagley, Wendell Carter, Gary Trent Jr. and Trenton Duval and the graduation of Grayson Allen.
