David Beaty’s 2018 class has picked up a huge addition from a talented and experienced defensive talent.
On Friday afternoon, ASA College, N.Y., weak-side defensive end Najee Stevens-McKenzie committed to the Kansas Jayhawks over a handful of other options, he announced on Twitter.

A 3-star prospect, Stevens-McKenzie original committed as part of the Ohio Bobcats 2015 class, but ultimately traveled the JUCO route. Now an experienced option that should be able to impact the two-deep upon his arrival in Lawrence, Kan., Stevens-McKenzie becomes the Jayhawks first pledge since Nick Williams on June 22 and commit No. 11 overall.
He committed to Kansas over offers from Iowa State, Missouri, Pittsburgh, UCF, Maryland, Toledo and Alabama A&M.
At 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, Stevens-McKenzie is ranked as the No. 430 JUCO player in the nation and the No. 23 weak-side defense end, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.
