West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen praises Oklahoma State offense

Dana Holgorsen coached one of the most prolific offenses in Oklahoma State history as the Cowboys offensive coordinator in 2010. So when Holgorsen, West Virginia’s coach, said Monday that Oklahoma State has “a complete offense,” he knows what he’s talking about.

Holgorsen and the No. 22 Mountaineers have to face a dynamic Cowboys offense led by quarterback Mason Rudolph. He has weapons at running back and receiver, including James Washington, who coach Mike Gundy called one of his “all-time favorites.” It’s understandable why Oklahoma State opened as an 8-point favorite in the matchup.

Game time announced for Bedlam game with hefty implications

After the Cowboys play West Virginia, they come home to face their biggest rival. Bedlam will kick off at 3 p.m. CT on Nov. 4 and be televised on FS1. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are fighting to be a part of the Big 12 title game and College Football Playoff.

The Sooners have won the past two matchups, but this game is clearly one of the most important remaining contests in all of college football. As of now, neither team is projected in the playoff, but that could swing easily after the showdown next week.

Other headlines from the program:

Former Oklahoma State kicker Dan Bailey reportedly out ‘weeks’

Dallas Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey, who played at Oklahoma State from 2007-2010, will reportedly miss an extended period of time with a groin injury, according to ESPN. Bailey suffered the injury while practicing on the sidelines Sunday against San Francisco.

In 2010, Bailey won the Lou Groza Award and Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year. He is currently the most accurate kicker in NFL history.

Other headlines from the athletic department:

  • For the third time in program history, the Cowgirls tennis team won titles in both singles and doubles at the ITA Central Regional Championships on Monday. The Cowgirls went 26-4 overall during the weekend in Lawrence, Kan.
