Chloe Kim took home the gold and the adoration, but a student from a Pac-12 institution was also on the same podium early this week.

Arielle Gold, a student at Colorado, secured a bronze medal in the women’s snowboard halfpipe final with a score of 85.75 on Tuesday in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Gold squeezed through qualifying (her words, not ours) to make it to the medal round, where she edged teammate Kelly Clark to land on the podium alongside Kim and China’s Liu Jiayu, who prevented an American sweep of the event by earning a silver with her 89.75 score on her second run. Still, though, two out of three isn’t bad for a nation in the Olympics.
