College GameDay apparently thinks Cotton Bowl can close roof for Red River Showdown

College GameDay is one of the best programs on ESPN, but even the No. 1 pre-game show in college football makes mistakes.

Oklahoma will face Texas in the Red River Showdown on Saturday at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. That’s a different building from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which is where the Cotton Bowl bowl game is played each year.

A graphic during GameDay apparently got the two venues confused, and Deadspin caught the mix-up.

It’s easy to see where the mistake happened. AT&T Stadium has a retractable roof. The Cotton Bowl at the Texas State Fair does not.

Still, the game is in the same place every year, so it’s surprising that no one for GameDay caught the mistake before it went on air.

Oklahoma and Texas will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT on ESPN. Expect the broadcast crew at the game to know that there is no roof.
