College football betting odds: ACC Week 9 games

The early college football betting odds for Week 9 include some interesting numbers for ACC fans to watch. But curiously, the game many would consider one of the more intriguing ACC matchups of the week has the biggest betting lines.

Coming off their bye week, the Clemson Tigers are set to host their cross-divisional rival, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, on Saturday night. Before their bye week, the Tigers lost by a field goal at Syracuse, and the Yellow Jackets have only lost two games, both of which in dramatic fashion. That has led many to believe this will be a close contest.

But Vegas disagrees. When bets started rolling in Sunday night, Clemson opened as a 15.5-point favorite. Clearly, the odds makers haven’t lost faith in the defending national champions.

Miami and Virginia Tech also opened as more than 2-touchdown favorites against North Carolina and Duke, respectively. So Vegas fully expects the top ranked teams in the ACC to continue rolling.

However, the other ranked team in the conference – N.C. State – is a 7.5-point underdog at Notre Dame this Saturday. The Irish are 6-1 and have earned an average margin of victory of nearly 30 points. But the Wolfpack are certainly a hot team too, having won six straight since losing on opening day.

The two closest ACC betting lines of Week 9 are in the Louisville-Wake Forest and Virginia-Pitt matchups. Both Louisville and Pitt opened as 4-point favorites although the Cardinals are a 4-point favorite on the road as opposed to the Panthers being favored at home.

The ACC weekend will kickoff on Friday, though, with Florida State visiting a suddenly resurgent Boston College team in Chestnut Hill. The Eagles beat Louisville and routed Virginia in their last two games while the Seminoles just fell Saturday to Louisville. Yet Florida State is a 8-point road favorite.

Here are the betting lines for games involving ACC teams, according to OddsShark.
