College basketball rankings: Villanova and Michigan State are 1-2 in AP Top 25

Duke and Kansas vacated the top two spots in the latest AP Top 25 college basketball rankings after suffering upsets this weekend, and voters have anointed Villanova as the new No. 1, with Michigan State at No. 2.

Duke’s loss to Boston College and Kansas’ to Arizona State make for fun midseason shakeups, even if it neither is unlikely to matter much by the end of the season. That upsets also comes as finals weeks descend upon college basketball, meaning many teams only have one game this week. The Blue Devils won’t play until next Wednesday against Evansville. Michigan State plays on Saturday against Oakland, while Villanova plays this Wednesday against Temple.
