Colin Cowherds likes Baker Mayfield to win Heisman, national title

Mark it down. Colin Cowherd has Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield winning the Heisman Trophy — not a huge shock — and Oklahoma football winning the national title.

Yes. Cowherd is predicting the Sooners will hoist the national championship trophy at the end of the season.

"Baker Mayfield in the next month is going to win the Heisman and the National Championship and people are going to go bonkers." — @ColinCowherd has reservations about the Oklahoma QB pic.twitter.com/dD2JujGAUM

Oklahoma fans will go “bonkers,” the FOX Sports radio host says. But there is one catch to Cowherd’s bold statement.

No matter how great Mayfield looks beating Georgia in the Rose Bowl and Alabama or Clemson in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, Mayfield is still not Russell Wilson or Deshaun Watson.

Cowherd does not appear to be a fan of Mayfield’s comparisons to Wilson or Watson, and thinks his athleticism is lacking to draw the parallel.

Mayfield could very well still have a successful NFL career, but until it happens, the likes of Cowherd still have their reservations about the senior who will likely take home the Heisman Trophy on Saturday.
