Bowl projections: ESPN has Penn State heading back to Rose Bowl

ESPN released its latest bowl projections Sunday morning. There’s even more good news for Penn State fans after Saturday night’s 29-point win over Michigan.

Kyle Bonagura and David M. Hale of ESPN project Penn State to make the Rose Bowl as the No. 2 seed in the College Football Playoff against TCU. And they both predict the Nittany Lions to make the national title game in Atlanta against No. 1 Alabama.

Penn State narrowly missed out on the College Football Playoff in 2016 and appeared in the Rose Bowl against USC. Penn State players and fans would be glad to return to Pasadena this year.

Here are the duo’s predictions for other Big Ten teams after Week 8:

Hale: Rose Bowl vs. TCU

Ohio State
Bonagura: Cotton Bowl vs. Notre Dame
Hale: Orange Bowl vs. Miami

Wisconsin
Bonagura: Peach Bowl vs. South Florida
Hale: Fiesta Bowl vs. Washington

Michigan State
Bonagura: Citrus Bowl vs. Auburn
Hale: Outback Bowl vs. LSU

Michigan
Bonagura: Outback Bowl vs. Mississippi State

Bonagura: Music City Bowl vs. Florida
Hale: Music City Bowl vs. South Carolina

Purdue
Bonagura: Quick Lane Bowl vs. Syracuse
