Booger McFarland on UCF’s SEC comments: ‘Better be careful poking the bear’

In the eyes of ESPN analyst Booger McFarland, the comments Central Florida running back Adrian Killins made could very much come back to bite them.

Killins, who is Central Florida’s leading rusher, made headlines earlier this week when he said, “SEC football, they don’t have a lot of speed, honestly. So, Auburn hasn’t seen any speed like we have here.”

McFarland weighed in on Killins takes on Sunday morning, and added that he thinks Alabama, LSU and Texas A&M are all fast football teams.

“Better be careful poking the bear,” McFarland added.

Central Florida has had a great season, as they managed to go 12-0 and win the American Atheltic Conference, despite dealing with the distractions that came with their coach, Scott Frost, fielding multiple job offers before eventually taking the South Florida job.

But Auburn will undoubtedly be the best team that the Knights have seen all season. Auburn was a game away from going to the College Football Playoff, and had Kerryon Johnson been healthy for that game, they very much might have beaten Georgia once again. If Auburn shows motivated for the game, Central Florida will very likely have a tough team beating the Tigers.

Johnson indicated on Saturday that he intends to play in the Peach Bowl, which is set for Jan. 1 in Atlanta. The game kicks off at 12:30 PM ET.
