TCU football continued its strong work on the recruiting trail, and flipped a big-time prospect from right in the SEC’s backyard.
Four-star running back Fabian Franklin committed to TCU on Sunday night, according to a report from Scout. Franklin was previously committed to Mississippi State before changing his commitment over the weekend.

Franklin is a blue-chip running back from Hattiesburg, Miss. The 2018 prospect ranks No. 297 in the 247Sports composite ranking, and is the second-best player in the state of Mississippi. Franklin picked TCU over a host of offers from all over the nation, including Alabama, Georgia and Michigan.
With Franklin’s commitment, TCU now has the No. 16 class in the nation and No. 3 in the Big 12. Five players are rated as 4-star recruits, including Franklin. TCU has 20 recruits committed in the class with weeks to go until the early signing period. Franklin is the first true running back of the 2018 class.
Franklin has more than 3,000 rushing yards as a varsity high school player, according to MaxPreps. As a senior, he posted 725 yards and 13 touchdowns on 6.5 yards per attempt.
