11 Big Ten basketball teams will participate in secret scrimmages

Eleven Big Ten basketball teams will hold secret scrimmages that aren’t all that secret anymore.

On Friday morning, ESPN college basketball analyst Jeff Goodman tweeted a list of who each conference team will or won’t play before the regular season starts Nov. 10.

Big Ten basketball secret scrimmages

The best game out of this bunch seems to be Purdue against West Virginia, the No. 21 and No. 10 team, respectively, in the first Coaches Poll Top 25 rankings. Minnesota, which came in at 15th, will play Creighton in what should be another competitive matchup. No. 2 Michigan State, Indiana and Iowa are the only Big Ten programs without a scheduled secret scrimmage.

Teams refer to these games as “secret” because they’re closed to the public and media. The NCAA allows programs to have two exhibitions or one exhibition and a closed scrimmage against a Division I opponent.
