Baylor-Oklahoma State football: TV channel, time, live stream, odds, picks (October 12, 2017)

Baylor and No. 14 Oklahoma State play on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Okla. Find the game time, odds, streaming information and keys to the game here.

The Bears (0-5, 0-2 Big 12) are still searching for their first win of the season after losing 11 straight regular season games. However, the Bears handed Oklahoma State one of the Cowboys’ three losses last season. The Bears have beaten quarterback Mason Rudolph in all three matchups.

The Cowboys (4-1, 1-1 Big 12) are fresh off a pair of uninspiring performances against TCU and Texas Tech. Oklahoma State is looking for a signature dominant victory in Big 12 play. Rudolph would like nothing more than for it to come against an opponent he has yet to beat.

Here’s everything you need to know about the game. Check out our live updates post to keep up with all the action.

Baylor-Oklahoma State: Keys to the game for the Bears

1. Contain the big play. Allowing big plays has been arguably this team defense’s biggest Achilles heel. The Bears allowed just three touchdowns to Duke, but all were runs of 34 or more yards. That continued in the second half against Oklahoma. If the Bears wants to win, it can’t allow Oklahoma State’s explosive playmakers to dictate the game.

2. Run the ball. Baylor hasn’t run consistently since beating Boise State in the Cactus Bowl. That was also the last time this team had a healthy stable of running backs. With Abram Smith out for the year, this is as good as it will get. JaMycal Hasty is back from a knee injury, and Terence Williams should get more carries after being limited against Kansas State and Oklahoma. The group is all there. If Baylor can’t run the ball at least a little better against Oklahoma State, there’s no reason to think it will get any better later.

3. Control the clock. Some of Oklahoma State’s issues will be recognizable to a few fans in Waco. The Cowboys tend to score too quickly and put tremendous strain on their thin defense. At least a couple of quick Oklahoma State drives are unavoidable. However, if the Bears hold onto the ball for extended periods, it allows the offense to get out of rhythm on the sideline. Additionally, it allows BU’s thin defense to rest. Running the ball consistently will help this significantly.
