Matt Rhule’s dominance on the recruiting trail continues. The latest commit Baylor
pulled in is 4-star wide receiver Tyquan Thornton, who decommitted from Baylor in June, then flipped from the Florida Gators
to Baylor on December 16th.
Baylor’s recruiting class is already
stocked with blistering speed, and it just got faster with their 22nd commitment in the class of 2018. The flip gives
Baylor three 4-star recruits in the 2018 class, but it isn’t all about star rankings. The freshmen that played last
year for the Bears were solid as well, and Baylor’s 2018 recruiting class is addressing key concerns at offensive tackle
and wide receiver.
Baylor is on the rebuild, and there’s evidence to suggest that they won’t be down for long. The
2017 season was marked by a staggering number of injuries, on top of all the transfers that happen when you have a brand
new head coach. All Baylor needs to do is bide its time, they have their quarterback in the future in Charlie Brewer, and
a solid crop of young men coming in.
