Welcome to the Friday edition of our Oklahoma DieHards morning roundup, where we take you through all the biggest headlines around Oklahoma athletics.

Baker Mayfield’s followers

Baker Mayfield is used to scrutiny by now, but not at this level. According to an SI.com report, an unnamed NFL team hired a private investigator to follow him around Norman, presumably to check on his off-the-field habits.

NFL teams have been known to go to extreme — and sometimes unethical — lengths to ensure that they get a good return on their investments in the players. This seems like going a little too far.

Sooners fall in OT

Trae Young’s flurry of points couldn’t save an Oklahoma basketball team that played very soft on the perimeter in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday. The Sooners fell to the Rhode Island Rams 83-78.

Sooners coach Lon Kruger didn’t have too many surprising things to say after the loss. He congratulated his team on a hard-fought game, and the Rams on a hard-fought win. The Sooners finished 18-14 this season.
