Baker Mayfield got a ‘confetti bomb’ in the mail after his arrest

In an interview with Bruce Feldman of Sports Illustrated, Baker Mayfield opened up about the aftermath of his arrest, and the ribbing he gets and expects from rival fans.

According to Mayfield, in the days after his arrest, he got some mail from an unknown sender. It was a spring-loaded confetti bomb that spat out orange and black glitter all over the place.

Mayfield said, “They sent that to me and got me pretty good. That is why I love college football. Rivalries. I expect that game (Bedlam) to be a lot of fun.”

If you’re unfamiliar with glitter bombs or confetti bombs, they’re the worst. It’s impossible to get every single piece with a vacuum, and the area around where you opened it will gleam the color of the glitter for weeks after you attempt to clean it. The pieces are small enough to be hard to get but are bright enough to annoy you.

It’s a form of torture, especially when it comes in your rival’s colors. Thankfully, Mayfield is a good sport about it, and seems to understand that this is what happens sometimes when you rib people. You better believe that they start to rib you back.
