According to Danny Davis of the Austin American-Statesman, Baker Mayfield doesn’t think the Georgia Bulldogs are going to care too much if he wins the Heisman.
Will winning the Heisman Trophy strike fear in the heart of the Georgia Bulldogs?
Baker Mayfield: I don’t think they care. #HeismanTrophy

Mayfield and the Sooners haven’t played against a defense like Georgia’s yet. The Bulldogs are from the once vaunted SEC, and rank fourth in the country in total defense.
Obviously, the total defense rank of the rest of the teams the Sooners played this year is going to be lower than their actual skill level. All of them have one thing in common, they played the Sooners, and were subjected to Baker Mayfield and company’s dominating offense. That’s going to skew the stats for any defense.
Still, Georgia’s defense is the best defense Oklahoma has faced so far this season. Mayfield is correct in his assumption that winning the Heisman probably won’t change Georgia’s opinion of him. What will change everyone’s minds is a resounding Oklahoma victory. Fortunately for the Sooners, they don’t have to change everyone’s opinions fo the Big 12. They just need to win.
